Who We Are
Red Barn Academy
(Now John Volken Academy)
Red Barn Academy is a residential life-skills and character development program set in a working farm environment.
Our mission is to provide men whose lives have been impacted by addiction, criminal behavior, and homelessness with the opportunity to rebuild and transform. Offered entirely free of charge, the 27-month (minimum) program emphasizes personal responsibility, integrity, and accountability over traditional treatment methods.
At Red Barn Academy, the focus extends beyond achieving sobriety. Students learn to live with honesty, discipline, and purpose—developing the tools necessary to lead value-centered, productive lives. It’s not just recovery—it’s complete reinvention.
Who We are
Who We Are
We are a licensed, two-year minimum life-skills academy that reinvents lives broken from addiction, and crime by teaching honesty, accountability, and integrity in a farm setting.
What We Do
We are not a ‘drug-rehab’ and we do not utilize or allow any medication assisted treatment of any kind. We are a peer driven community that uses an “each-one-teach-one” process of behavior modification, focusing on doing the next right thing until it becomes a habit.
Ways We Give
Any contribution helps build our community. Red Barn Farms is a 501(c)(3) public non-profit organization, so your donations are tax-deductible.
